Discover the best of Lisbon, Ericeira and Sintra in 3 days

Three days, three charming suggestions: cosmopolitan Lisbon, coastal Ericeira, and magical
Sintra. This itinerary is perfect for those who want to combine culture, nature, and gastronomy without wasting time. Get ready to discover secret viewpoints, picturesque streets, and authentic flavors that only those who know Lisbon and its surroundings well can truly appreciate.

Day 1 – Lisbon

Between historic neighborhoods and hidden viewpoints

Start at the heart of Lisbon by exploring
Bairro Alto, Chiado, and Alfama. Wander along the cobbled streets, discover viewpoints with breathtaking views, and don’t miss the chance to enjoy a coffee at a typical terrace. Between urban culture and historic districts, Lisbon offers authentic experiences around every corner.

Must-see places:

  • Santa Catarina Viewpoint – Perfect for watching the sunset with a view over the Tejo river in a laid-back atmosphere.
  • Santa Justa Lift – An icon of the city connecting Baixa to Chiado, offering stunning views over Lisbon’s rooftops.
  • São Jorge Castle – One of Lisbon’s most famous viewpoints, steeped in history and boasting incredible panoramas of the city.
  • Praça do Comércio – Imposing and historic, one of Europe’s largest squares, overlooking the Tejo river and lined with cafés where you can soak up Lisbon’s atmosphere.
  • Bertrand Bookstore – Founded in 1732, the oldest bookstore in the world still operating, a true literary treasure in Chiado.
  • LX Factory – A former industrial site transformed into a cultural hub, filled with shops, restaurants, and street art.

Day 2 – Ericeira

Surf, narrow streets, and the taste of the sea

Just 45 minutes from Lisbon, Ericeira is famous for its waves and fishing village atmosphere. Stroll through the historic center and enjoy fresh fish or seafood at a seaside restaurant. For the more adventurous, a surf lesson is almost a must.

Must-see places:

  • Praia dos Pescadores – One of the village’s most iconic beaches, perfect for walking or watching the fishing boats.
  • Historic center – Narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and colorful murals that showcase Ericeira’s soul.
  • Marisqueira Furnas – An emblematic restaurant in Ericeira, ideal for savoring fish and seafood with stunning views in a welcoming setting.

Day 3 – Sintra

Palaces, gardens, and magic

The last day is dedicated to the town of Sintra, with its fairy-tale palaces and enchanting gardens. The Pena National Palace and Quinta da Regaleira are must-stops, but don’t miss the less-traveled viewpoints and trails that reveal the natural beauty of the mountains. Sintra uniquely blends history, nature, and architecture.

Must-see places:

  • Peninha Trail – For unforgettable panoramic views.
  • Moorish Castle – Best visited in the late afternoon, when the light is perfect for photography.
  • Casa Piriquita – Founded in 1862, one of the town’s most popular spots, famous for its travesseiros de Sintra and queijadas, typical pastries you can’t miss during your visit.

These are our suggestions for an unforgettable 3-day trip across Lisbon, Ericeira, and Sintra. But there’s much more to discover. If you have extra time, be sure to add the wonderful town of Cascais to your itinerary.
