The year 2024 will return with the events that everyone is waiting for, from the typical Lisbon festivals, to the music, cinema and theatre festivals, to the notable fairs and markets of a distinct and varied nature.

Lisbon has its own charm and so do its festivals, full of joy and tradition. Here are some you can't miss:

Carnaval

Between parades and serpentines, Lisbon puts on its Carnaval costumes and its streets are filled with the most original festivities.
Dates: February 21st to 26th

Popular Saints

This neighbourhood-style festival takes place throughout the month of June and attracts thousands of people, who watch the popular marches and weddings of Saint Anthony, enjoy traditional music and the iconic sardines on bread.
Dates: June 12th and 13th

Christmas Markets

The city lights up to celebrate the Christmas season and markets are set up with craft stalls, ice rinks and concerts. You can smell the typical Christmas sweets in the air and see the joy on people's faces.
Dates: November 30th to January 1st

Sónar

This electronic music festival in the heart of the city celebrates the creativity of the shows, with emerging and well-known local and international artists.

Coala Festival

A festival focused on portuguese language music, which aims to combine Brazil, Portugal and Africa as a whole to offer new sound experiences.

The city of Rock offers various stages, sounds and artists for all tastes and ages.

NOS Alive

One of the best summer festivals, with great artists and memorable concerts.

Super Bock Super Rock

Close to Lisbon, the village of Meco hosts a festival capable of reinventing itself every year.

Cool Jazz

The festival that brings together music, people and nature to offer unique moments.

Meo Kalorama

More than just a festival, its pillars are art, music and sustainability.

The independent film festival that always fills theatres.

The TODOS festival celebrates Lisbon as an intercultural city through art.
